View Draft Report
A fifth-year senior from Edmonton, Alberta, Coutney was a productive hitter at Colby (Kan.) JC and Old Dominion from 2018-2021. In 2022, he became one of the best sluggers in college baseball. His 27 home runs were tied for third most in the country and he also ranked fifth in the country with an .808 slugging percentage. Coutney’s power is real. He does an outstanding job of squaring up baseballs with a swing that leads to lots of line drives and fly balls and he has the power to drive the ball out to the pull side and the opposite field. He also showed that he can catch up to quality fastballs. He’s just turned 23, so he’s an older senior sign candidate, but one with power to spare.
