    View Draft Report
A physical, athletic infielder and outfielder, James has shown solid power and speed with Mississippi State over three seasons. After homering 12 times and stealing 20 bags in 2021, James hit .303/.398/.474 with nine home runs and 14 stolen bases in 2022. He primarily started as Mississippi State’s everyday third baseman but has also spent time in center and left field. James was overmatched by 93+ mph velocity this spring and struggled to hit in a 19-game stint in the Cape Cod League in 2021 with Wareham (.159/.274/.254) but brings solid pull-side power to the table with a 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame that could add more weight.
