Draft Prospects
Jones' older brother Tyler plays first base at Gonzaga and has a chance to get drafted himself, but the younger brother is the better prospect for 2016. A Washington signee, Jordan Jones touched 91 mph this spring with his fastball, which more regularly sits 87-88. He hides the ball with a hip turn and doesn't have excessive effort in his delivery, making scouts think more is in the tank down the line. He throws strikes with his fastball and breaking ball but doesn't have a plus pitch presently.
