Ramsey made the All-Big Ten second team in 2021 after posting a 1.67 ERA over 37.2 innings with 43 strikeouts and just 12 walks out of the bullpen. This spring, he transitioned into a full-time starting role and didn’t quite show the same peripherals but went 11-1 and posted a 3.22 ERA. He could still find a spot among the top 10 rounds for a team who likes how his fastball plays. In 92.1 innings, Ramsey struck out 90 batters (23.5 K%) and walked 41 (10.7 BB%). Ramsey throws a fastball in the 88-90 mph range and touches 94 at peak, but the pitch has around 20 inches of induced vertical break and in part because of that, generates more whiffs than you would expect. His go-to secondary and best swing-and-miss pitch this spring was a changeup around 80 mph—which generated whiffs at a 51% rate—and he will also throw a fringy breaking ball in the upper 70s and low 80s that blends between a slider and curveball. While his strikes backed up this year, he has a track record of being an above-average control lefthander and should fit somewhere in the 8-12 round range.
