Litscher is a late bloomer who stands a massive 6-foot-8, 250 pounds and uses his height to his advantage. His 89-93 mph fastball features steep plane and he uses a sharp spike curveball in the low 80s to generate swings and misses. He also shows the makings of an average slider in the 82-85 mph range. All of Litscher’s stuff misses bats and he racked up 105 strikeouts in 73.2 innings this year to lead St. Katherine’s to the NCCAA World Series. But he also walked 55 batters because, like most tall pitchers, he has trouble repeating his delivery and release point. Litscher has a chance to start, but his below-average control will push him to the bullpen if it doesn’t improve.
