The cousin of Orioles catcher Anthony Bemboom, O’Tremba’s bat took a massive leap forward in 2022. He’d been a solid hitter with little impact in his two years at Texas Tech and his first year at Arizona, but this year he hit .351/.446/.591 with 11 home runs. He’d hit four in his first three seasons combined. O’Tremba is a stocky outfielder with a simple, short swing that works. He’s a potentially plus hitter with fringe-average gap power now, but with the chance to eventually turn his bushels of line-drive doubles (21 this year) into home runs. Scouts love his effort. They don’t love his defense. He is stretched in a corner outfield spot, showing below-average defense with a well below-average arm. He’s a fringe-average runner. O’Tremba plays hard and can hit, but the team selecting him will know it has a lot of work to do on the other aspects of his game.
