The Pirates' closer, Gilbert has recorded six saves in 26 appearances this spring, striking out 44 and walking 20 in 44 innings. One scout likened him to Heath Bell, though Gilbert isn't quite as big at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds. He brings a plus fastball out of the pen, sitting at 92-93 mph and running it up to 94-95 at times. His secondary stuff has a tendency to get big, but he showed improvement by shortening up his slider as the season went on.
