Drafted in the 14th round (433rd overall) by the Atlanta Braves in 2014.
View Draft Report
Compact, strong and ultra-athletic at 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, Daris was a standout running back and linebacker in high school, and he blossomed into an impact baseball player for Azusa Pacific, hitting .377/.439/.480 with 15 steals in 16 tries this spring. Daris has one carrying tool: his speed, which rates as a 70 or an 80, depending on who you ask. He has some feel for stealing bases but is still learning to make the most of his speed in center field, where his jumps and routes are suspect and his arm is below-average. Offensively, the lefthanded-hitting Daris is a slasher who has learned to put balls on the ground and beat out infield hits. He has occasional pop to the gaps but won't hit for home run power in pro ball.
