Dutto, a 6-foot, 210-pound senior sign, spent his first three seasons at California and was a part-time starter who hit just .121 in 165 at-bats with the Bears. He finished his career at NAIA Menlo (Calif.), and was the best defensive shortstop in the area, with sure hands and an above-average, accurate arm. He still hit just .276 but showed more power with 13 home runs.
