Cunningham was Coastal Carolina's No. 2 starter behind Andrew Beckwith during its run to the 2016 national championship. He was drafted in the 28th round by the Tigers that spring, but chose to return to school for his redshirt senior season and earned all-Sun Belt Conference honors this year. Cunningham's fastball sits in the low 90s, touching 95 mph. He added a fringe-average slider this year to go with his big curveball and changeup. Listed at 6-foot, 210 pounds, Cunningham is slightly undersized and missed the 2014 season while recovering from surgery to fix a fracture in his right elbow. But he has built a strong track record of success over the last two years. His age and medical report prevented from scouts from turning him in.
