Few players in the 2026 class can match Coaxum’s quick-twitch athleticism. He’s a plus-plus runner with a quick first step, traits that should lead to good range in center field. Coaxum has always been an excellent athlete, but after struggling with swing-and-miss in 2023, his offensive game took a leap forward in 2024 with a huge spring season to become the South Carolina Class 3A Player of the Year. Coaxum added strength to his still lean frame and is holding his swing together better with improved balance and timing while driving the ball with more impact. He sets up with a wide base, no stride and has the bat speed to already crack triple-digit exit velocities. There is still swing-and-miss to Coaxum’s game, but if he can continue to prove his bat-to-ball skills against better competition, he has the upside to make another jump up the list.
