Scouts had little history with Arbet before last summer, when he performed well in the Area Code Games. He continued to make strong impressions at the Jesse Flores All-Star game in November and the Southern California Invitational in February, propelling him into the third- to fifth-round range. Arbet's outstanding athleticism is an asset at shortstop, where he has good range, instincts and actions as well as a good arm, giving him a chance to stay at the position. His bat is more of a question mark, because his swing can get long and he's prone to chasing pitches out of the zone. He has made strides as a hitter the more he has played, and he has a chance to be an average hitter with fringy power as he matures. He's also a solid-average runner. Arbet plays with energy, and his excellent makeup leads scouts to believe he will continue to improve.
