School: Southern Miss
Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age at Draft: 21.0
McIntyre started his career as a two-way player with Meridian (Miss.) JC where he got into the low 90s on the mound and hit over .400 in two seasons. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound outfielder then transferred to Southern Miss for the 2024 season and slashed .374/.429/.468 with a pair of home runs, 10 stolen bases, an 11.5% strikeout rate and a 7.9% walk rate. Now a hitter only, McIntyre is near a top-of-the-scale runner with a slappy, opposite field approach who pressures opposing infields by getting out of the box with a jailbreak swing as often as not and consistent sub-4.0 second run times. He won’t threaten to leave the yard too often with light power potential in his thin frame, but he has the tools to be an above-average defensive center fielder with a strong arm.
