Branch is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound sophomore-eligible shortstop who transferred to Georgia after a solid freshman season with Auburn in 2023. He hit for less contact and more power with the Bulldogs in 2024 with 15 homers in 50 games but an average that fell from .325 to .268. Branch will be a tricky evaluation for teams because he offers some organizational value thanks to his shortstop defense and power, and teams will be encouraged by a 15-homer SEC shortstop, but his limited toolset and questionable pure hitting ability make him more of a day three target. Given Branch’s remaining college eligibility he could simply opt to return to Georgia and look to boost his draft stock in future seasons.
