If Boshers winds up as the second-best reliever from his high school team, he'll be doing well. That's because he was teammates with Braves closer Craig Kimbrel at Lee High in Huntsville, Ala. In 2013, Boshers joined Kimbrel in the big leagues on Aug. 10. The Angels don't have a lot of immediate help coming up from the system, but when it comes to lefthanded relievers, a trio of arms might be battling for one job. Boshers, Nick Maronde and Michael Roth all bring different strengths to the table, with Boshers featuring the best curveball of the trio. He also had the most success in the majors, albeit in a limited stint. His stuff improved a tick in 2013, as his fastball improved from being an average 88-91 mph offering to a more lethal 91-94 pitch. He falls in love with his plus breaking ball, though, and often doesn't throw his fastball enough. Boshers' long-armed delivery inhibits his below-average control and likely will limit his upside, but it also adds to his deception, limiting him to a likely role as second lefty out of the pen. He may be ready to do that at some point in 2014.
