Black is a 6-foot 1, 185-pound outfielder and lefthanded hitter with solid-average tools nearly across the board. He has a clean lefthanded swing with a chance for average raw power and a solid approach to go with it as well. Black had a chance to perform in front of plenty of decision-makers at USA Baseball’s National High School Invitational this spring, and he got on base at a decent clip but also showed some swing-and-miss tendencies. A center fielder now, Black might move off the position and be a corner outfielder in the future. He’s committed to Liberty but has been cross checked enough this spring that he might not make it to campus.
