Scobey is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound shortstop who has solid tools on both sides of the ball. He’s listed as a switch hitter, but is much better from the right side than the left side and might be better served dropping the lefty swing altogether at the next level. He’s strong with some pop, though there are extreme split-camp opinions on the quality of his hit tool, and he can get overly pull-heavy at times. A shortstop now, Scobey probably fits best at third base or second base, where his average arm strength and speed could serve him better. He’s committed to South Carolina and will be 19 on draft day.
