Moehler is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound righthander and the son of 14-year big league pitcher Brian Moehler. The younger Moehler is a high-waisted righthander who moves well on the mound and throws with a short arm action from a three-quarters slot. He mostly pitches in the 88-91 mph range but will scrape a 92 or 93, while mixing in an 11-to-5 mid-70s curveball with above-average potential that occasionally blends into a harder slider closer to 80 mph. He’ll also throw a low-80s changeup that he has impressive feel to land for strikes. Moehler has a starter package with big league bloodlines to back it up, but he’s expected to be a difficult sign out of Clemson.
