Jorvorskie Lane Sr. played three seasons in the NFL as a fullback for the Dolphins and Buccaneers after his time at Texas A&M, when he set the school record with 49 career rushing touchdowns. His son, Jorvorskie Lane Jr., is standing out for his athleticism on the baseball field, with some offensive similarities to Tigers infielder Javier Baez. Lane has explosive hips and hands, generating excellent bat speed to fire the barrel through the zone. Lane is young for the class but between his ferocious bat speed and strength he already produces some of the best power in the 2026 high school class. It’s an aggressive approach and his swing can get big at times, so it might end up a power-over-hit profile, but he has been a high-end game performer on the 2024 travel circuit and shows 30-plus homer potential. Lane is already a tick above-average runner and could end up plus. He has split time between center field and catcher, so his speed could back up as he gets older if he does stick behind the plate, though if he goes to the outfield in pro ball he has a greater chance to develop into a power/speed threat.
