Martinez fanned 110 in 100 innings through the Sun Belt Conference tournament, though he was hit harder as the season wore on and saw his ERA swell to 5.47. Early in the spring, he'd show three average to plus pitches at times: an 88-91 mph fastball, a cutter and a curveball.
