The 2023 Mountain West freshman of the year, Gray had a standout season in which he hit .297/.338/.495 with eight doubles, eight home runs and 38 RBIs. Gray had a career season this spring in terms of production, and he laced 29 extra-base hits with 52 RBIs. He is also in the midst of a fantastic summer on the Cape, hitting .352/.398/.560 with 11 extra-base hits and a league-leading 32 hits. He has an explosive operation in the box for someone of his stature with plus bat speed and above-average power to all fields. Gray has double-plus bat-to-ball skills to the tune of a 95% overall in-zone contact rate, including a video game-like 97% rate against fastballs. Gray is a fringe athlete on the dirt, but he has a comfortably plus arm.
