Drafted in the 4th round (132nd overall) by the San Francisco Giants in 2013 (signed for $415,000).

Ragira, who is the son of Kenyan immigrants, was a top high school prospect in 2010 but slipped to the Rangers in the 30th round because of his strong commitment to Stanford. He was a factor for the Cardinal right away but hasn't progressed as much as scouts would have hoped. He has a solid build at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds and shows good bat speed, and scouts think he will be at least an average hitter. In fact, some scouts like Ragira's hitting potential better than teammate Austin Wilson's. But his ultimate value will come down to his power. He's a tough profile as a righthanded hitter who doesn't draw many walks and is limited to first base because he's a bottom-of-the-scale runner, so he'll have to develop above-average power to have major league value.
