Draft Prospects
An unsigned 23rd-round pick out of high school, Sweet has hit consistently for two years at Polk State. Considered a power-speed athlete coming out of high school, his value now is dependent upon his ability to stick in center. Some see him as a plus runner who can handle center field every day, while others say his speed plays at average, pushing him to an outfield corner. His arm likely fits best in left field. A switch-hitter, he has a chance to hit at the next level with a direct stroke, and he hit .411/.525/.565 this season. He is still somewhat raw and struck out in 17 percent of his plate appearances but has shown on-base ability (16 percent walk rate). His power is mostly to the gaps and is likely to play as below-average. His speed plays on the bases and he stole 30 bases with a 91 percent success rate.
