Vogt hit under .200 each of his first two seasons at UC Santa Barbara before breaking out this spring. He hit .317/.405/.541 while taking over as the Gauchos' starting center fielder and No. 3 hitter and led UCSB to the Big West Conference title. Vogt has an advanced sense of pitch recognition and pitch selection and feasts on fastballs. His power is is geared more for doubles than home runs, but he hits the ball hard and has a chance to grow into average power down the line. Vogt is an average runner with a quick first step in center field. He plays the position fearlessly and isn't afraid to lay out for a sinking liner or crash into the wall to run down a fly ball. He has an average, accurate arm. Vogt lacks huge tools, but his ability to hit velocity and play center field has teams interested late on the draft's second day or early on the third day.

Vogt hit under .200 in his first two seasons at UC Santa Barbara. This year, he hit .317/.405/.541, rocketing himself into draft consideration as a potential day three pick. Vogt is an average runner, but he should be able to stay in center field as a pro. He has an accurate, above-average arm. He has an excellent first step and shows a fearlessness when diving on a sinking liner or going back to the wall to run down a fly ball. At the plate, he has an advanced sense of pitch recognition and pitch selection and when he does find a pitch to hit he’s generally going to hit a stinging line drive. Vogt feasted on fastballs this year. His power is geared more to doubles than home runs, but he could grow into average power down the line. As an average hitter with developing power and a shot to stay in center field, he’s a productive organizational player who may exceed those expectations.
