BA Grade: 45/High
Track Record: Chivilli was a standout performer for Low-A Fresno in the second half of 2022, and there was talk that he might transition into a starting role in 2023. Instead, Chivilli began the season in High-A Spokane’s bullpen. He made 50 appearances at the level and struck out 65 over 57 innings. Chivilli earned a promotion to Double-A Hartford for the final few weeks of the season. Chivilli was added to the 40-man roster following the season.
Scouting Report: Chivilli mixes a four-seam fastball, slider and changeup. His fastball sits between 95-97 mph with below-average ride but heavy armside run. He shows a knack for landing the pitch in the zone. Chivilli’s most-thrown secondary is an above-average changeup that sits between 85-87 mph. His slider, which sits between 85-87 mph, plays like a cutter hybrid and gets swings and misses both in and out of the zone. It’s his best pitch. Despite being a reliever so early in his career, Chivilli displays above-average command.
The Future: With sharp command and an outstanding pitch mix, Chivilli has the makings of a high-leverage reliever.

Track Record: After two seasons in the Dominican Summer League, Chivilli came stateside in 2022 and dominating over nine appearances in the Arizona Complex League. He was promoted to Low-A Fresno in early July and held down the Grizzlies' closer job for the remainder of the season. While Chivilli has impressed as a reliever up to this point, the Rockies plan to try him as a starter in 2023 at High-A Spokane.
Scouting Report: A projectable righthander with plus stuff, Chivilli announced his presence upon coming stateside with a three-pitch mix with exceptional power for a 20-year-old. Chivilli's four-seam fastball sits 94-97 mph and touches 98-99 mph with heavy armside run. While his fastball has plus power, his dead zone shape could limit the pitch's projection against more advanced competition. His slider is a tight mid-80s breaker that generates whiffs and chases at elite rates and plays up due to his above-average command. Chivilli's changeup is used as often as his slider and shows splitter-type shape in the mid 80s. Chivilli misses bats and drives chase swings on all of his pitches due to his ability to tunnel his secondaries off of his mid-90s fastball.
The Future: Chivilli is one of the highest upside arms in the Rockies' system. He has the stuff of a high-leverage closer and the deep quality of pitches of a starter. If he is moved to a starting role next season, Chivilli could blossom.
Scouting Grades: Fastball: 50. Slider: 60. Changeup: 55. Control: 50.
