View Draft Report
After an injury and control-plagued 2021 season, Prosecky made a solid step forward in 2022. He threw better strikes while also regaining the 92-94 mph fastball he’d flashed in high school (up from 88-90 in 2021). Prosecky attacks hitters with a north-south approach as he mixes an above-average fastball and a mid-70s above-average curveball. He can mix in a below-average changeup to righthanded hitters. Prosecky was effective as Louisville’s closer this year. His track record of success is relatively short and he’s had flashes of wildness in the past, but scouts like his stuff and his body.

Track Record: Prosecky was drafted in the 35th round by the Phillies in 2019 but honored his commitment to Louisville. He lost his first two seasons to the pandemic and injury, which meant he never cracked the Cardinals’ rotation. He made 26 appearances out of the Louisville bullpen in 2022 and was an all-ACC selection. The Rockies took Prosecky in the sixth round of the 2022 draft and signed him for an over-slot bonus of $300,000. He was assigned to Low-A Fresno in 2023 and got an opportunity to start.
Scouting Report: After pitching exclusively as a reliever in college, Prosecky understandably works with a fastball-heavy mix and threw his heater 67% of the time in 2023. The pitch is above-average and sits between 92-93 mph and touches 95 mph with well above-average ride that helped it miss bats and drive weak contact. Prosecky also throws a mid-70s curveball, a mid-80s changeup and a cutter at 87-88 mph. He showed improved feel for his changeup in 2023 and used it to overwhelm Low-A hitters.Prosecky is an average strike-thrower with the ability to command all of his pitches.
The Future: Prosecky could blossom into a No. 4 starter with more starting experience. His fastball-heavy approach, however, will likely land him in a relief role.

Prosecky is a 6-foot-4, 205-pound lefthander who has good arm strength and a consistent delivery. His upper and lower halves sync up nicely, which allows his arm to follow a smooth path in order to get out in front and finish his pitches. Prosecky's fastball sits in the 89-93 mph range, and he has shown feel for an average changeup. His breaking ball is well below-average and will need to be refined in order to profile as a starting pitcher in pro ball. Prosecky is committed to Louisville.
