Track Record: Henriquez fell under the radar in the 2018-19 international signing class and drew little attention when he signed with the Dodgers out of Venezuela as a 16-year-old. He broke out as one of the top pitching prospects as in the Arizona Complex League in 2021 and ascended to the rotation at Low-A Rancho Cucamonga in 2022.
Scouting Report: Henriquez has matured into a big, hard-throwing righthander with some of the best pure stuff in the Dodgers system. His fastball sits 96-98 mph and touches 101 and his mid-80s slider flashes plus with late break off the plate. He also has a firm changeup in the low-90s. Henriquez oozes potential but requires a lot of refinement. His fastball command is below-average and the inconsistency of his delivery causes his fastball to lose its life and play down. He struggles to land his slider in the zone and his changeup has a long way to go. Henriquez flashes average control when his delivery is working, but at other times he shows well below-average control.
The Future: Henriquez has a chance to be a hard-throwing, high-leverage reliever if he can improve his delivery. He'll continue to start in the minors for development purposes.
