Track Record: Quintero signed with the Braves out of Venezuela in 2019 and made his U.S. debut in 2021, when he struggled to a .207/.312/.273 slash line in 40 games in the Florida Complex League. The 2022 season was a better showing for the 20-year-old infielder, who started showing flashed offensively, while playing multiple infield positions.
Scouting Report: Listed at 5-foot-8, 155 pounds, Quintero is a small grinder type who began making more contact and showing a solid offensive approach at Low-A Augusta. Quintero has above-average bat-to-ball skills, but his power is below-average, and he doesn't look like the sort of player who will grow into much more in the future. A switch-hitter, Quintero hit for better average, got on base more and showed power from the left side in 2022, though his offensive value will be driven by contact and speed more than impact. He was second in Atlanta's system with 34 stolen bases and is a plus runner. Defensively, some scouts think Quintero could be an above-average shortstop, but he played third base and second base in 2022 in deference to Cal Conley, and most evaluators think he is a good enough defender at enough positions to provide super utility value.
The Future: Quintero will struggle to profile as an everyday player without showing more power, though his speed, contact ability and defensive versatility could give him major league value in a reserve role with continued improvement.
Scouting Grades: Hit: 40. Power: 30. Speed: 60. Fielding: 55. Arm: 50.

Track Record: Quintero signed out of Venezuela during the 2019 international signing period, debuted in the Dominican Summer League in 2019 and then came stateside in the summer of 2021, with an uninspiring showing in the Florida Complex League. Assigned to Low-A Augusta out of spring training Quintero turned heads with his feel for the zone, bat-to-ball skills and twitch. Scouting Report: Quintero is a switch-hitting middle infielder with the ability to handle a variety of positions defensively including second base, shortstop, third base and the outfield. He's likely best in a utility role overall but has the twitch and range to profile long term at a variety of positions. He has above-average bat-to-ball skills with above-average approach and some projectable power, though he's likely capped at fringe-average in-game power long term. He's not a standout defender yet at any single position and his current offensive game is predicated on contact and approach. As Quintero has shown more feel to hit power has started to surface. He has a strong all-around profile to keep an eye on. The Future: The question is will Quintero hit enough as he faces higher quality pitching to profile as an everyday regular. There's plenty to be optimistic about in the infielder's profile with second division regular upside if everything clicks.
