View Draft Report
A 29th round pick of the Brewers in 2013, Eicholtz claimed a spot in Alabama's rotation for the first time this spring. He missed two starts in March after leaving his second start of the year due to a forearm strain, but showed no ill effects when he returned to the mound and threw a career-high 66 2/3 innings and finished second in the SEC with a 2.30 ERA. Eicholtz is not overpowering, and instead relies on his low-90s sinker to create groundball outs. He locates the pitch well and can spot it to both sides of the plate when he's at his best. His slider is his best secondary pitch and he also mixes in a changeup. He throws all three offerings for strikes and pitches to contact. Eicholtz is listed at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds, and has the look of a back-of-the-rotation starter.
