Hamilton is one of the more intriguing athletes in this year's class. He is new to baseball, picking up the game as a sophomore. Hamilton is from way upstate New York, and just hasn't played much baseball. His best tool is his speed, which is a legitimate 80 runner on the 20-to-80 scouting scale. He can run the 60-yard dash in less than 6.4 seconds, and his speed translates into game action. At the plate, he is a switch-hitter with surprising contact ability, though he is raw from both sides. Hamilton has room to fill in both his thighs and shoulders, and could develop power to the gaps as he adds strength. Hamilton developed in the Great Lakes Canadians travel program. Hamilton is committed to San Jacinto (Calif.) CC
