Teams that value plate discipline will take a hard look at OF Chris Kolkhorst (.489 OBP, 36 walks versus 20 whiffs). Kolkhorst, best known for making crucial defensive plays in left field to help Rice beat Stanford in the 2003 College World Series, is athletic but lacks power. He's a gritty sparkplug, an outfield version of David Eckstein. He played the Stanford series with a dislocated shoulder and a torn knee ligament, refusing to get an MRI and reaching base five times in the finale.
