View Draft Report
An athletic two-way player in high school, Baker intrigues pro scouts most as an outfielder. He has a compact, contact-oriented swing and uses the whole field to hit. He won't hit for much power but does a good job of using his above-average speed on the basepaths. That speed also allows Baker to cover plenty of ground in the outfield, to go with above-average arm strength. He has good instincts in the outfield and profiles well as a center fielder. On the mound, Baker can run his fastball up 91 mph and typically pitches in the upper 80s. He has some feel for his secondary stuff and will be a two-way player if he continues his career at Florida, where he is committed.
