Bohrofen ranked as the No. 141 prospect in the 2020 class out of high school and stood out for his plus raw power and corner outfield profile. He began his career at Oklahoma but transferred to Arkansas in 2022, and struggled in his first year thanks to contact issues and a high strikeout rate. He turned in a career season in 2023, when the 6-foot-2, 205-pound lefty-hitting outfielder slashed .313/.431/.604 with 16 home runs and 15 doubles in 60 games. Bohrofen was on a torrid streak to start the season, but conference play brought him back down to Earth. He stands upright at the plate with a slightly open front side and has quick hands with consistent, tight turns and an explosive back hip. Bohrofen does have a pull-oriented approach that causes him to pull off the ball at times, and that has created issues specifically with contact against breaking stuff and changeups. He’s a fastball hitter who has done well with velocity and posted a 1.164 OPS against fastballs, but just an .849 OPS against breaking balls and offspeed stuff. He’s an average runner with average arm strength and should be an adequate defender in an outfield corner, though left field is a better fit than right field in pro ball.

Track Record: A highly touted prep player out of the state of Oklahoma, Bohrofen ranked 141st in the 2020 draft class. He honored his commitment to Oklahoma, lasting one season with the Sooners before transferring to Arkansas. He spent two seasons with the Razorbacks. After a down year in 2022, Bohrofen roared back in 2023 by hitting .318/.436/.612 with 16 home runs. The Blue Jays drafted him in the sixth round and signed him to a near-slot bonus of $302,000. In his pro debut, Bohrofen played in 17 games with Low-A Dunedin hitting .307/.442/.677 with six home runs.
Scouting Report: A powerful lefthanded hitter with a smooth swing, Bohrofen is a power-over-hit prospect with solid on-base skills. He is an excellent fastball hitter and does most of his damage there. He struggles against good spin, but his strong swing decisions limit some of his exposure. Bohrofen has strong on-base skills to go along with above-average game power. He makes consistent hard contact at positive angles and shows the ability to drive the ball to his pull side. Bohrofen is a fringe-average runner now who likely slows down. He has enough range to handle an outfield corner with an average throwing arm.
The Future: Bohrofen fits the profile of the modern slugger. How much contact he makes as he moves up will dictate whether or not he reaches everyday regular status.

An Oklahoma signee, Bohrofren is one of the better power prospects in the high school class. He has plus raw power and an average arm with a quick release that fits in either corner outfield spot, and he can even play center in a pinch. But a team willing to draft and sign him out of high school is taking a chance that his noisy setup and leverage-based lefty power will be able to play against more advanced pitching. Few doubt Bohrofren’s ability to get to 20-25 home run power as he matures, but his bat does not stay on plane in the strike zone for very long and his bat speed is average at best, which is why a number of scouts see him as a below-average hitter—one whose pitch recognition should allow him to post solid on-base percentages. Bohrofren has a good frame and is an average runner with some twitchiness. He likely makes it to Oklahoma, although his power potential fits in the fourth round if he proves signable.
