Draft Prospects
A Boise native, Anderson was a prep shortstop who played both ways in junior college. He threw just 22 innings as a freshman but was drafted anyway by the Royals in the 34th round. Anderson shouldered a heavier load this spring, going 4-5, 3.90 in 60 innings in his first full season as a pitcher. (He hit .282 in part-time DH duty.) Anderson has hit 95 mph but mostly sat in the 89-92 mph range. His secondary pitches remain rudimentary, and the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder has a lot to learn about pitching. However, he's athletic and has a loose, quick arm.
