School: Alabama
Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age at Draft: 21.1
George flashed big time stuff with a huge, 6-foot-5 frame out of high school, but he made it to campus at Texas where he pitched in just three games during the 2023 season. Following the year, George transferred to Alabama and scouts raved about the stuff he showed for the program in the fall. He has a fastball that has been in the 98-100 mph range and he paired the heater with a hard, upper-80s slider that has plus potential. While George is largely unproven at the college level, his pure stuff makes him an intriguing sleeper who could rocket up draft boards with solid performance during the 2024 season.

School: Alabama Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.1
George has flashed big time stuff dating back to his prep days and his arm talent is all the more appealing because it comes out of a huge, 6-foot-6, 240-pound frame. He began his career at Texas where he pitched in just three games in 2023 but transferred to Alabama where scouts raved about his stuff and his progression on the mound during the fall. He had high expectations entering the spring season, but struggled mightily with control and pitched just 11.1 innings out of the bullpen where he posted a 4.76 ERA with more walks than strikeouts. George sits in the 97-99 mph range with his fastball and has been up to 102 mph but he has little idea where the pitch is going. The same is true of a hard upper-80s slider that could be a plus offering if he could locate it with more consistency. After the spring season George pitched with Chatham in the Cape Cod League where he struck out eight batters and walked four in his first 5.2 innings out of the pen. With relatively little college track record, George is a wild card in the draft but his huge arm talent could entice teams who believe they can help him find the zone more frequently. -
School: Lake Travis HS, Austin Committed/Drafted: Texas
Age At Draft: 19.1
George is a huge, 6-foot-6, 250-pound righthander who looks like a workhorse starter who wouldn’t look out of place in a big league uniform right now. He showed a fastball in the 92-95 mph range in his first inning at Area Codes, with above-average feel to land the pitch to both sides of the plate, but his velocity and control backed up significantly in his next inning. George also threw a 77-80 mph breaking ball with three-quarter shape. How consistent George can be with his command moving forward will be telling. During the spring George dealt with injuries and inconsistencies and some scouts think he should head to Texas and add more polish to his game. He goes to the same Lake Travis High School that produced Brett Baty and Jimmy Lewis in 2019.
