Lefthander Kyle Carr was arguably the top junior college prospect in the nation this spring for Palomar (Calif.) JC, and Scott benefitted from all the eyes on his teammate. A 6-foot-5, 220-pound outfielder, Scott batted .438/.522/.648 with six home runs, 52 RBI and more than twice as many walks (27) as strikeouts (12) in a huge season for the Comets that put him firmly on draft radars. Scott is a physical, powerful righthanded hitter with above-average raw power. He impacts the ball when he connects, but he is prone to swinging and missing against better stuff and will have to prove he can make enough contact at higher levels. He played center field at Palomar, but he’s a slow mover who will move to a corner. Scott requires a bit of dreaming, although his physicality and power give him upside. He is committed to UC Santa Barbara.
