Clemente was a prominent part of a Stoneman Douglas high school team that was named Baseball America’s High School Team of the Year after winning USA Baseball’s National High School Invitational and a second straight Florida 7A state championship. Clemente threw a complete game in the semi-finals to push Stoneman Douglas to the championship game and was one of the harder-throwing arms at the NHSI in April. A big and physical, 6-foot-4, 210-pound righthander, Clemente pitches in the low 90s and touches 96, with a slider that sits around 78-82 mph and a groundball-inducing, mid-80s changeup with solid fading life. Clemente is a solid athlete with more projection remaining, thanks to a frame he can continue to add strength to and the fact that he’s relatively new to pitching after focusing on hitting previously. Clemente is committed to Florida.
