Carreno, who made his second NY-P start on his 19th birthday in June, made a name for himself in his first taste of baseball in the United States. He showed the possibility for two plus pitches if he can gain more consistency with his fastball and curveball. His 90-94 mph heater lacks command, and his curveball sometimes features tight spin but at others is more of a roller. He's also making progress with a changeup and has started incorporating a two-seam fastball with excellent movement. He already controls his two-seamer better than his four-seamer.
