A transfer from Orange Coast (Calif.) JC, Beerer has been the most valuable player in the Big 12 Conference this spring. He ranks among the national leaders with a school-record 12 saves and entered NCAA regional play second on Texas A&M in homers (10) and RBIs (53). He'll definitely be a pitcher in pro ball, thanks to his fastball/slider combination. He throws 91-94 mph with good movement, though there's some effort to his delivery. He also shows feel for a changeup, so he's worth a look as a starter.
