How Close Are The Top 100 Prospects From Graduating?

Baseball America’s initial Top 100 Prospects list for the 2023 season dropped on Wednesday. The list featured a pair of big leaguers—the Orioles’ Gunnar Henderson and the D-backs’ Corbin Carroll in the top two spots.
Both Henderson and Carroll are close to graduating prospect consideration, meaning it won’t take long for the Top 100 to shift once the big league season begins.
They aren’t the only two prospects who could lose prospect status during the season. Twenty-three players on the list have already debuted and should have a chance to begin 2023 on their clubs’ Opening Day rosters.
Baseball America does not include service time in its definition of a prospect. Instead, a hitter must exceed 130 at-bats and a pitcher must exceed 50 innings pitched or 30 games pitched.
For those players who have not reached the big leagues, we’ve also included the highest level they’ve reached—excluding the playoffs—in the minors. Four players have yet to make their American professional debuts—the Mets’ Kodai Senga and the Red Sox’s Masataka Yoshida as well as 2022 draftees Dylan Lesko (Padres) and Druw Jones (D-backs).
