The D-backs might still be years away from contending for a postseason spot, but there exists at least a theoretical core of the next competitive team.
The club added one of the highest-upside players in the draft in shortstop Jordan Lawlar to join Corbin Carroll and Alek Thomas near the top of the system.
And then there was the pitching. A cavalcade of arms stormed through the system, including Ryne Nelson, Drey Jameson, Blake Walston and Brandon Pfaadt, among others. Not since the days of Patrick Corbin, Trevor Bauer and Tyler Skaggs have the D-backs possessed a crop of potential starters with so much upside.
It lines up to make 2022 an interesting year from a developmental perspective.
Today, we unveil the 10 best prospects in the D-backs system as it enters 2022.
We’ll be hosting our D-backs chat at 3 p.m. ET. You can submit your questions ahead of time here.
