The Mets raved about the developmental steps taken by catcher Francisco Alvarez and third baseman Brett Baty at the alternate training site in 2020.
This year, those two players headline a Mets farm system with a clearly defined upper tier but little depth beyond the Top 10 Prospects.
Alvarez and Baty represented the Mets at the Futures Game and made huge climbs up the Top 100 Prospects ranking. Shortstop Ronny Mauricio and third baseman Mark Vientos round out the organization’s Top 100 contingent. Pitching is in shorter supply in the system, with only righthander J.T. Ginn on the immediate mid horizon.
We’ll be chatting the Mets farm system at 1 p.m. ET on Monday. You can submit your questions ahead of time here.
