The hosts begin the show by taking a spin around the most notable results in the SEC, including Vanderbilt getting outstanding starts from Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter in a series win over South Carolina, No. 1 Arkansas bouncing back from a Friday loss to Alabama to win the last two games of the series and Mississippi State taking two out of three against Louisiana State in Baton Rouge in a series that somehow went a little bit under the radar. They also touch on how stratified the SEC appears to be this season, with clear upper, middle and lower tiers already forming.

It was a soft opening in the Big 12, but it gave us two competitive series in Baylor hosting Texas and Oklahoma State going to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech. Teddy and Joe talk about how close the series in Lubbock was and how a series loss doesn’t necessarily change positive opinions on Oklahoma State. Certainly, as good as the three games were over the weekend, it’s a shame that three games between these teams are all we’re going to get during the regular season.

In the Pac-12, they touch on the series win for UCLA over Arizona at home, which featured some very positive signs of progress for the Bruins, and Oregon keeping its momentum going with a series win at home over Arizona State, led by more power hitting displays from Kenyon Yovan and a standout start from Cullen Kafka on the mound.

Around the talk of all the conferences that just got underway, they also discuss Florida State’s emphatic series win over Miami, which vaulted the Seminoles back into the Top 25 and casts even more doubt about what we should expect from the Hurricanes this season.
