Top 10 MLB First Base Prospects Entering 2021

There has never been a college first baseman selected with first pick in the MLB draft. Technically the Tigers selection of Spencer Torkelson in 2020 did not change that fact, since they announced him as a third baseman–a position he never played at Arizona State.
But for our purposes, we are ranking Torkelson at the position where we expect he will end up. And his addition makes this a very strong first base class. Having Andrew Vaughn (the third pick in the 2019 draft) adds to this group’s star power. This group does thin out quickly however. The top five prospects on this list all ranked among our Top 100 Prospects. By No. 10 on this list, the pickings had considerably thinned out.
