New Gig For Selig
Bud Selig, the former Brewers owner and longtime commissioner of Major League Baseball who left the post in 2014 after 22 years, has a new job.
Selig will teach in the Sports Law and Business program at Arizona State’s law school and be the founding president of an advisory board to the program, the Arizona Republic reported.
“I am particularly excited because my wife and I have our second home here, and I am pleased to have this opportunity to give back to the great state of Arizona,” Selig said in a statement.
Selig delivered the keynote address at ASU’s conference on sports and entertainment law in late 2013 in one of his final appearances while still commissioner. Selig took the top MLB post as interim commissioner in 1992 and stayed 22 years before ceding to righthand man Rob Manfred in 2014.
Previously, Selig taught at Marquette’s law school and at his alma mater, Wisconsin.
