Reds Announce Area Code Tryout Dates
The Reds, whose 2015 Area Code Games team included Nicholas Quintana (Arbor View High, Las Vegas), Payton Henry (Pleasant Grove (Utah) High) and Cuba Bess (Fruita Monument, Fruita, Colo.), have announced their 2016 tryout schedule.
The Reds will be hosting the top players from the Four Corners region (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah) and Hawaii. The top players will be invited for the Area Code Games from Aug. 6-10 at Blair Field in Long Beach. Underclassmen will be invited for the Area Code Baseball Underclass Games from Aug. 10-12.
Reds tryout dates:
Thursday, June 16: at College of Southern Nevada (Henderson, Nev.), 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday, June 17: at Gilbert-Chandler Community College 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Underclass
Saturday, June 18: at Cubs Training Facility, Sloan Park, Mesa, Ariz. 5 to 10 p.m.
Please note that the June 15th and 17th tryouts are for invited athletes who are in the graduating class of 2017. Athletes graduating in 2018 and 2019 classes must have a scout reference and invite as well for the underclass tryout. Players must receive an invite and fill out the online form that was sent to them. Do not just show up to the tryout even if a scout tells you to attend.
