High School Top 25: May 3

Coppell (Texas) High continued its spectacular season and remains atop the High School Top 25 entering the competitive Texas 6A playoffs.

Coppell has been No. 1 for most of the season, with its lone loss coming against Euless Trinity on April 15.

Four previously unranked teams enter the Top 25 this week. Pope High (Marietta, Ga.) and Buford (Ga.) High join fellow Georgia powerhouses Allatoona High (Acworth, Ga.) and Walton High (Marietta, Ga.) in the rankings. Pope and Walton both play in Georgia’s 6A classification, and could face each other in the finals, should they advance through their respective brackets.

These rankings are compiled by a committee of voters from Baseball America and the Baseball Coaches Association. All records are as of May 1.
