College Top 25 (May 9)
With a 3-1 week, Florida became the first team this season to reach the 40-win mark and did so faster than any other team in program history. As a result, the Gators remain atop the Baseball America Top 25 rankings, powered by Louisville Slugger.
The top four teams remain the same this week, as Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Miami again follow Florida. Texas Tech, the Big 12 Conference leader, moves up to No. 5, its highest ranking this season.
Three new teams join the rankings this week. Arizona makes its debut in the Top 25 this season, entering at No. 21. It is the Wildcats’ first week in the rankings since March 11, 2013. Cal State Fullerton and Clemson return to the Top 25 at Nos. 22 and 23.
Falling out of the Top 25 are Oregon State, Minnesota and Michigan State.
The Southeastern Conference leads all conferences with seven teams in the rankings, including five in the top 10. The Atlantic Coast Conference has six teams in the rankings.
The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records are through May 8 and do not include ties.
