College Baseball Rankings Top 25 For May 8

Oregon State posted a perfect week with a midweek win against rival Oregon and a sweep of California, and retained its top spot in the Baseball America Top 25, powered by Louisville Slugger.

The Beavers moved closer to clinching the Pac-12 Conference with their fifth conference sweep of the year. Their magic number stands at two with six conference games to play.

Louisville and North Carolina again follow Oregon State this week, with Texas Tech and Texas Christian rounding out the top five. Florida and Stanford join Mississippi State, Long Beach State and Kentucky in the top 10 this week. The Cardinal rank 10th, their highest ranking since they entered the 2013 season at No. 9.

Two new teams join the Top 25 this week. Oklahoma rejoins the rankings at No. 24, followed by Nebraska at No. 25. The Sooners return to the Top 25 after a two-week absence. The Cornhuskers are ranked for the first time since March 30, 2015, when they were No. 22.

Falling out of the Top 25 this week are Maryland and Texas. Both lost weekend series.

The Southeastern Conference leads all conferences with seven teams in the rankings. The Atlantic Coast Conference follows with five representatives.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through May 7 and do not include ties.
