College Baseball Rankings Top 25 For May 22

Oregon State swept Washington State to finish its Pacific-12 Conference slate with a 27-3 mark, setting a record for Pac-12 wins in a season, and retained its top spot in the Baseball America Top 25, powered by Louisville Slugger. It’s Oregon State’s ninth straight week at No. 1.

The Beavers won all 10 of their Pac-12 series this season and swept seven of them. Oregon State outscored conference opponents 175-79 this season, an average of 3.2 runs per game. With the sweep, Oregon State improved to 45-4 and matched a program record set in 2013 for most regular-season victories.

Behind Oregon State, North Carolina climbed to No. 2 this week. It is the Tar Heels’ highest ranking since they were No. 1 in 2013, and they won all 10 Atlantic Coast Conference series for the first time under the league’s current format. Texas Tech, Florida and Louisville round out the top five.

Central Florida and Houston, which finished the season tied atop the American Athletic Conference standings, join the rankings this week. UCF enters at No. 23 and Houston follows at No. 25.

Falling out of the Top 25 this week are Texas A&M and South Florida. Both lost weekend series.

The Southeastern Conference leads all conferences with six teams in the rankings. The ACC follows with five representatives.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through May 21 and do not include ties.
